Sherry Washington joined APSRC as a Science Specialist in July 2025. Prior to her position at APSRC, she dedicated one year to Conway Junior High School as an ESL English Teacher and eleven years to LISA Academy Charter School, where she served as a Middle School Science Teacher and ESOL Coordinator. In addition, she held the roles of STEM and Science Olympiad Coach and Science Fair Coordinator and was responsible for teaching Project Lead the Way classes. 

Sherry holds a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Science from the University of Central Arkansas, as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Throughout her professional journey, she has obtained an ESOL K-12 endorsement and completed the Arkansas Leadership Academy: Teacher Leader Program facilitated by APSRC. One of her most notable achievements was being awarded the Arkansas Charter School Teacher of the Year in 2023, an honor that further motivated her to enhance student learning outcomes. She is a strong advocate for the belief that all students can achieve success through collaboration.

In her spare time, Sherry enjoys spending time with her family and has a particular interest in documentaries about space. She aspires to travel to the moon in the future.
