Part 1: “Why through year assessment data is important, how national norms play a role and what part growth data play in ESSA” establishes value for using actionable real-time data to inform instruction and personalize learning while sharing updated national norms and linking studies. Participants will receive an overview of how Map Growth data factors into ESSA and state rewards and recognition calculations.
Part 2: “An Introduction to MAP Growth data, and maximizing outcomes at the classroom and student level” provides an overview of the data and what a RIT score means. Participants will be introduced to a group of simulated students, each one similar to students all teachers currently have in class, and what could be learned about these children based on their RIT score. This is an opportunity for administrators to establish and/or reinforce strong expectations for using assessment performance data at the teacher level. Participants will be introduced to the Class Report and actively complete a graphic organizer as they plan for meeting individual student needs.
Part 3: “Using mid-year data to chart student achievement and growth against established goal measures” provides opportunities to explore the Quadrant Report and dive deeper into conversations about Response to Intervention (RTI) and personalizing learning for all students. Participants will use a graphic organizer to assist with analyzing data from the quadrant chart and plan with their team ideas for interventions, enrichment, and celebrations. Participants will also learn to utilize the linking study to project student performance and proficiency on the state summative assessments.
Designing Structures Around Learning Loss with NWEA
We all need information now on learning loss. This 3-hour session will begin by using the projected proficiency to identify learning loss and/or gains and end with ways to plan for student proficiency on essential standards prior to beginning the 21-22 school year. The use of this information allows us to identify and plan in May in order to be ready for fall. We will focus on the use of the Class Breakdown Report, the Achievement Status and Growth Summary Report and the Learning Continuum through NWEA. Participants will have the opportunity to examine their own data as well as understand how to duplicate and share the process with their peer educators.
