Writing in the K-2 Classroom
May 4 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
FreeThis session will focus on the importance of writing instruction in the K-2 classroom. We will examine handwriting and its influence on student writing and composition. Participants will learn about the research on handwriting and how it relates to student performance and skill mastery. In the second part of the day, we will focus on directly teaching sentence-level comprehension and writing. Participants will engage in grade-level topics and texts in order to develop sentence-level writing activities to take back to the classroom. This session will be applicable to any K-2 teacher using any curriculum.
This session will be held at the APSRC Training Center, Suite 375 in the Victory Building at 1401 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.
