Special Education Finance Year at a Glance

Josh Hart, DESE-OSE Funding and Finance, will provide an in-depth overview of the responsibilities of Local Education Agencies in relation to Special Education funds. Participants will learn the why and how on topics including June 1 application, maintenance of effort, excess cost, private school proportionate share, budget amendments, CEIS/CCEIS, ARP IDEA supplemental funds and allowable expenses. Updates will be provided on the following areas: Supporting Inclusive Practices with Special Education Funds, and Fiscal Monitoring. Attendees should bring technology to access MySped, the DESE website, local budgets and ask district specific finance questions.

This session will be held in the APSRC Training Center, Suite 375, in the Victory Building at 1401 West Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.

Parking is available in a garage located on 6th Street, which runs parallel to Capitol Avenue. The garage is connected to the Victory Building via a second-floor walkway. You will need $6 to cover all-day parking or $2 per hour for hourly parking. Metered parking is also available.
