R.I.S.E. K-2 Day 1: The Science of Reading

The science of reading has changed reading instruction in elementary classrooms. Day 1 of R.I.S.E. (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence) provides an overview of the scientific evidence from brain research and imaging on how young children learn to read.
The session will be held at the APSRC office, Suite 375 in the Victory Building, which is located at 1401 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.
Parking is available in a garage located on 6th Street, which runs parallel to Capitol Avenue. The garage is connected to the Victory Building via a second-floor walkway. You will need $5 to cover all-day parking or $1 per hour for hourly parking. Metered parking also is available.
