Instructional Strategies for Gifted Students (Secondary)

FreeSpend a day learning and practicing classroom strategies designed to help increase the achievement of your advanced learners and provide them with the opportunity to learn something new each day. From bell-ringers to differentiation, best practices to use with advanced learners will be shared along with techniques to address their affective needs.
Topics include using essential questions, flexible grouping, curriculum compacting, thinking skills, genius hour, Socratic circles, performance tasks, problem-solving, increasing self-efficacy, acceleration, menus, learning contracts, and service learning. Dr. Mary Kathryn Stein will provide numerous tools to help support your high-ability learners.
The session will be held at APSRC. Our offices are in Suite 315 in the Victory Building, which is located at 1401 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201
Parking is available at a garage located on 6th Street, which runs parallel to Capitol Avenue. The garage is connected to the Victory Building via a second-floor walkway. You will need $5 to cover all-day parking or $1 per hour for hourly parking. Metered parking also is available.
