Instructional Strategies for Gifted Students (Elementary)

Spend a day learning and practicing classroom strategies designed to help increase the achievement of your advanced learners and provide them with the opportunity to learn something new each day. From bell-ringers to differentiation, best practices to use with advanced learners will be shared along with techniques to address their affective needs.

Topics include using essential questions, flexible grouping, curriculum compacting, thinking skills, genius hour, mindset, performance tasks, problem-solving, increasing self-efficacy, menus, tiered lessons, and learning contracts. Dr. Mary Kathryn Stein will provide numerous tools to use to support your high-ability learners.

This session will be held at APSRC, Ste. 315, which is in the Victory Building, located at 1401 W. Capitol Ave, Little Rock, AR 72201.

Garage parking is available on 6th Street, which runs parallel to Capitol Avenue. The cost is $1 per hour or $5 for the entire day. Money is placed in a numbered slot that matches that of your parking space. Metered parking also is available.
