Human Capital Equity Lab (HCEL)
February 20, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
FreeGather your human resource team and join us for a Human Capital Equity Lab (HCEL) hosted by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education on Thursday, February 20 from 9 am to 3 pm.
Human Capital Equity Labs (HCELs) are being held across the state as a vehicle to align strategic human capital management with the goal of providing equitable access to effective educators in order to meet the needs of all students. These gatherings can vary in their approaches – and the focus of the equity lab experience – in order to meet the goals and priorities of assigning teachers to students.
The USDOE defines Equity Labs as a gathering of school representatives and other key stakeholder groups to assist in the development of plans to improve access for low-income and minority students to excellent teachers, aligning the identified strategies to a local context. These labs can kick off crucial conversations . . . to overcome racial and socio-economic injustices that may have limited equitable access.
Required attendance includes the superintendent/director, principals, and an HR representative.
