Bringing the Division of Arkansas Heritage into the classroom
June 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeArkansas Educators K – 12 are invited to attend a workshop provided by the Division of Arkansas Heritage. Staff from the Division of Arkansas Heritage (DAH) will present a workshop showing educators resources that are available through DAH’s eight programs and museums, including field trips, online exhibits, loan boxes of artifacts, and more. This workshop will count for 3 hours of Arkansas History Professional Development.
Teachers will learn how to incorporate resources to bring Arkansas’s history and heritage to life for their students. Whether it’s a program – like the Arkansas Arts Council, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission or Arkansas State Archives – or one of DAH’s awe-inspiring museums or cultural centers – such as the Delta Cultural Center, the Historic Arkansas Museum, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center or the Old State House Museum – students will be engaged as they are given the opportunity to learn in a unique way. Arkansas Heritage is one of FOUR divisions within the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism.
This session will be held in the APSRC Training Center, Suite 375, in the Victory Building at 1401 West Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.
Parking is available in a garage located on 6th Street, which runs parallel to Capitol Avenue. The garage is connected to the Victory Building via a second-floor walkway. You will need $6 to cover all-day parking or $2 per hour for hourly parking. Metered parking is also available.
