ACT Aspire Training for High School Math Teachers
August 29 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
As educators we know we must teach to our standards, but it is important to prepare our students to address problem-solving, justification and explanation, and mathematical modeling. It is also important to understand how the rigor of our everyday questioning elevates student thinking and growth. In this hands-on training, teachers will discuss strategies for supporting students as thinkers and problem solvers. Resources will be shared via Google with all workshop participants.
Intended Audience: Classroom math teachers, 9th-12th grades
Presenter: Dr. Celeste Marie Alexander, K-12 Math Specialist, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
This training will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., August 29, 2018, at APSRC.
